About the Workshop

The EarthON Champions Workshop is a dynamic, three-day program, designed to equip 60 founders of grassroots nonprofit organizations and enterprises with the skills, resources, and networks needed to drive impactful change in climate-focused sectors. As part of our EarthON Changemakers Program, this workshop aims to identify and empower leaders working in sustainable agriculture, circularity,  and distributed renewable energy, while fostering collaboration and innovation among participants.

Trainers

Nitin Akhade
CLEAN

Nitin Akhade is an experienced leader in economic development, energy efficiency, and rural energy transition. With expertise in clean energy equity, he works on developing customized energy solutions for sustainable development. Currently serving as the Executive Director at Customized Energy Solutions and a Vice President at the Clean Energy Access Network, Nitin has led several initiatives to promote rural economic development through clean energy. He has worked extensively in partnership with national and international organizations, including UNDP, GIZ, and the US Embassy. Nitin holds a master’s degree in Energy Engineering from Grenoble INP and has a strong background in energy economics and policy.

Pulkit Jain
Managing Director, Your Digitial Boat

An engineer turned marketer and entrepreneur, I run “Your Digital Boat,” a digital marketing agency. Passionate about online marketing and digitalization, I’ve worked with 50+ brands, including Vespa, SPJIMR Mumbai, and GD Goenka School. I was awarded “Best School Digital Marketing Company” at the World Education Conclave 2019 and named one of the Top 10 Leaders in Ad Agencies by CEO Insights Magazine in 2023. I specialize in social media content creation, audience engagement, business branding, and community management, and enjoy providing consultancy to brands on marketing challenges.

Ekta Jaju
Executive Director, EarthON Foundation

Ekta Jaju is the Founder and CEO of ONganic Foods, with a deep passion for organic farming and its impact on smallholder farmers in India. She previously co-founded Switch ON and ONergy Solar, gaining strong experience in sustainable energy and agriculture. Ekta has consulted for organizations like UN Women and GIZ and has received fellowships from UnLtd India, Packard Foundation, DASRA, and BYCL.

Vinay Jaju
Founder, EarthON Foundation

Vinay Jaju is the Co-founder of SwitchON Foundation, ONergy Solar, ONganic Foods, and ONSkills, leading projects with the Government of India and agencies like the US Embassy, GIZ, UNDP, GE, and WWF. He has received multiple prestigious fellowships and awards, including the “Global Entrepreneurship & Leadership Award” from AIESEC. Vinay is a member of the ISEP Expert Group at Johns Hopkins University and serves on the LVDC Panel at the Bureau of Indian Standards. A TEDx speaker and guest faculty at top institutes, he has been featured in media outlets like NDTV, CNN-IBN, and Outlook Business. Vinay holds a management degree from SP Jain, Mumbai, and has worked with GE Australia and Grameen Shakti Bangladesh.

Tarun Kalra
Founder, Design Mantras

Tarun Kalra is an accomplished entrepreneur, designer, and strategist with nearly three decades of experience spanning web design, IT consulting, media, and social impact. As the founder of Design Mantras, he has led innovative projects for global clients, specializing in custom websites and digital solutions.

Previously, Tarun held leadership roles at Zee Telefilms Limited (Zee TV) and IMPL (India TV), where he managed on-air graphics development and oversaw major live broadcasts. He also served as COO of Boond Engineering, delivering energy access solutions for rural communities in India, and worked at Xansa, leading IT consulting projects focused on e-learning and multimedia development. His expertise blends creativity, technology, and strategic leadership across diverse domains.

Pauline Laravoire
Techno India Group

Pauline Laravoire, originally from Paris, has lived in Kolkata for several years now. She holds a master’s degree in Sustainability and Social Innovation from HEC Paris and has expertise in strategy consulting, social entrepreneurship, impact assessment, and community building. As Sustainability Director at Techno India Group, she co-founded Y-East, an SDG-focused venture in Eastern India. Pauline is passionate about building sustainability-driven communities through Y-East, Youth for Sustainability India Alliance, and #LearningPlanet. In her free time, she enjoys walking, singing, yoga, and is learning Bangla.

Prof Chandradeep Mitra
Founder, PipalMajik

With over 20 years of experience in Marketing, Branding, Communications, and Media, I transitioned in 2009 to become a facilitator and mentor for students and entrepreneurs. I coach leaders, mentor entrepreneurial organizations, and teach marketing at top Indian business schools like IIM Calcutta and XLRI. Through my consultancies, PipalMajik & Meta4Sight, I provide strategic advice on strategy, marketing, branding, and innovation. I am actively involved in entrepreneurship development, particularly in social entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability, and serve on several industry and academic boards.

Ajay Mittal
Independent Consultant

I am a sustainability leader with a strong focus on ecosystem restoration and collective environmental action. Previously, I served as the Director of Climate Change Programs for India & South Asia at EARTHDAY.ORG, where I led initiatives like the Canopy Project, planting 2 million mangroves in the Sundarbans. I’m also a member of the Stakeholder Council for the World Economic Forum’s 1t.org initiative in India, working on reforestation and conservation efforts.

Rustam Sengupta
Founder, EarthON Foundation

Rustam is a serial entrepreneur focused on senior care technology, climate change, and renewable energy. He is the founder and CEO of Tuktu Care, an on-demand marketplace for aging adults. Previously, Rustam worked with SDTC, taught at the University of British Columbia, and managed research at Johns Hopkins University. He serves on several boards, including Boond, a solar company in India, and the EarthON Foundation
